Spot cooling provided to employees at plastic bottle factory

We received a call from a major bottle factory in United Arab Emirates. They had a major issue with the high heat levels in the production area. Air temperatures exceeded 65 degree Celsius! The heat was caused by the furnaces and compounded by the high summer temperatures in Dubai.

We sent one of our Sales Engineers to site and provided a spot cooling solution. This included HPAC45 & HPAC90 package AC units.  The air conditioning units were placed outside and we provided ducting to the work stations where the employees stationed. We were able to provide 24 degree chilled air the employees which created a more productive and safer working environment. read more

Cooling or heating for the Festive Season

The festive season becomes a very busy time for our Clients in the event sector along with event management companies. UAE becomes host to many international artists, concerts, sporting events and exhibitions.

The cooler weather is also perfect for outdoor festivals and functions. Andrews Sykes has a full range of evaporative coolers and fans for these events which are popular over the festive season.

If our Client opts for a majlis, marquee or tent, we have a full range of chiller, air handlers and package AC units. Our package air conditioning units come with a built in heat pump which means they can also be used as heaters. This is idea for December when the evening become chilly but the days remain warm. Temporary cooling provided to the Facilities Management Sector

Andrews Sykes Climate Rental was approached by a market leading Facilities Management company to provide a temporary chiller solution for the shopping mall while the permanent unit was sent to the manufacturer for refurbishments and overhauling of compressors. This process takes 2-4 so Andrews Sykes provides temporary cooling to ensure the mall could continue as usual without shoppers being affected.

Andrews Sykes provided 1 x 100kw (28TR) temporary chiller with supporting circulation pump, hoses and accessories. This unit complements our full range of chillers which includes 50kW – 700kW (15TR-200TR). We also have a full range of air conditioning units, heaters and ventilation equipment. read more

Andrews Sykes provides tube exhaust AC & ventilation fans for new airport terminal building

One of our Clients was awarded the contract to build the new A380 terminal building at Dubai International Airport. The extension required major work on the existing AC system and Andrews Sykes was contacted to provide temporary units during this process.

The solution comprised of AS14 tube exhaust air conditioner units along with FV100 ventilation fans. The AC units were able to provide the additional cooling load required to keep the building cool while the ventilation fans provided the air movement and distribution to areas that were under construction. read more

Andrews Sykes provides temporary cooling & power for Military & Navy

Andrews Sykes was pleased to power shore power & cooling to military vessels and submarines as they entered port in the UAE to restock supplies. UAE is home to many bases and international forces which includes airbases, military camps, navy and air forces. Andrews Sykes provided a temporary solution including 2 x 700kW Chillers along with buffer tank, accessories, cable and hoses. This was supported with auxiliary power which included 2 x 1000kVA (1 running & 1 x standby).

Due to the high ambient temperatures during summer in the UAE & GCC, Andrews Sykes also provides many air conditioning units to the temporary man camps. These include PAC22 (2TR split AC units) and PAC60 (5TR split AC) for the accommodation and HPAC45 (12TR package unit) and HPAC90 (25TR package unit) for the kitchens, warehouses, hangers and other large structures. read more

Shore power & cooling provided to cruiser liner

Dubai is becoming a regional hub for cruise ships and they have recently opened a terminal at Port Rashid exclusively for these vessels. The Arabic Gulf has good cruising conditions which include flat seas and great weather all year round.

Recently, Andrews Sykes was approached by the vessel owner to provide some temporary shore power and cooling for some emergency maintenance work. Due to the urgency of the requirement, they were unable to wait and schedule to visit the dry docks and repair ports. During this maintenance work, the vessel had to turn off the permanent AC & power system while the crew all remained on board. read more

Andrew Sykes provides warehouse spot cooling for perishable pallets

One our Clients received a shipment of perishable good that were required to be kept in a temperature controlled environment in Dubai despite the ambient temperatures were above 45 degree Celsius/113 degree Fahrenheit  outside. The warehouse only had extraction vents on the roof designed to reduce the temperature by 2-5 degree Celsius.

Due to the size of the warehouse, it wasn’t cost effective to provide cooling for the entire warehouse but rather a spot cooling solution. Andrews Sykes designed a system that could provide cooling or the portion of the warehouse and racks where the perishable items were stored. read more

Wild air cooling for new Theme Parks in Dubai

2016 will be a big year for the Dubai in terms of Theme Parks as it plans to open the world’s largest indoor theme park and another outdoor theme park that has four large parks included in one facility. This will be the first park in the world that includes major attractions from both Bollywood and Hollywood.
